Should you buy an Intel i7-5930K in 2023?

Testing the Intel i7-5930K six core CPU in 9 popular and demanding games in 2023, using an RTX 3070 discrete GPU. In 2014, Intel offered two near-identical six-core i7s for the new socket 2011 v3. Both had unlocked multipliers, the same cache size, Haswell architecture and hyperthreading. Aside from relatively niche use cases, the $200 price difference was hard to justify, making one of the two chips an absolute bargain even at the time. Of course, this isn't that chip, it's the other one. At least in 2023 they're both cheap...
