URA impounds vehicles at Busia border over smuggling

The URA enforcement team at the Busia border have impounded three trucks and two minibuses which were found smuggling goods valued at over 500 million shillings. The impounded vehicles were carrying mainly garments stashed in sacks when they were intercepted at various porous border points. According to Vincent Seruma, URA’s assistant commissioner for public and corporate affairs, the goods belong to traders who have been using buses to bring in clothes from Kenya.
