Big Sky's Original Lone Peak Tram

With the 2023/24 season coming to a close this is a short tribute a lift that changed skiing in America forever! Built in 1995, the original tram in Big Sky Montana, this lift carried 15 passengers at a time and was a work of art. With no words to describe all the fun and adventure it provided for 28 years to skiers, riders and sightseers please enjoy this tribute to the lift, all of the employees that made it run in challenging conditions and most of all the beauty of the Lone Mountain. This lift radically changed the way ski area's in North America, accessed, patrolled and opened terrain. It dropped skiers and riders at the summit of one of the most iconic peaks in America to access the North Summit Snowfields, the famed Big Couloir and the legendary south face runs such as Marx, Linin and the Gullies. The new Lone Peak Tram installed this winter of 2023 is fast, modern and a lift of the future. It is a huge upgrade on so many levels to the ski resort. And with improvements its always nice to "tip the hat" to the past on how we got here.
