As James Brown’s principal bassist since 1971, he participated in one the most prolific periods in the Godfather of Soul’s incredible career as a member of Brown’s band, the J.B.'s. Fred can be heard on hits such as: #HotPants, #PapaDontTakeNoMess, #MakeitFunky, #GetontheGoodFoot #DoingittoDeath, #ImaGreedyMan, #IGotAntsinMyPants, #ThereitIs, #StonedtotheBone, and instrumental classics like #PassthePeas and #GimmeSomeMore. He's on the seminal "Live at the Apollo Vol. 3 #RevolutionoftheMind" and can be seen in #SoulPower (2008) documentary of James Brown's 1974 concert in Zaire, and in the many James Brown #SoulTrain appearances. With: Guitarist, Gabriel Caplan, has joined Fred over the past twelve years in his band. First meeting backing up Daptone label artist, #NaomiShelton & the Gospel Queens, they have played shows together including; Jazz A Vienne; Latitude Fest; Bergenfest; Festival d'été de Québec; Daptone Soul Review at Williamsburg Park, Bonnaroo “Which Stage"; MontereyJazz Fest; Celebrate Brooklyn. Brooklyn stalwart, James Hill Jimmy Hill, keys and vocals, has played with everyone from Wilson Pickett, #TheIntruders, #Shirelles, Marvelettes and most recently with Black Velvet–nom de funk for #CharlesBradley–as leader of the Allstarz Revue. He is also a session musician for #DaptoneRecords. Tyrone Cox, trumpet and vocals. As a founding member of Crown Heights Affair, Tyrone has performed trumpet on hit records including 1974's "Super Rod". He has toured as a vocalist with the Drifters, and backed up the #IsleyBrothers as a member of #RoadRunners. He went on to perform with acts such as #BenEKing, #WilsonPickett, The Crown Heights Affair, and #BrassConstruction. Kaori Kiki Nakajima (tenor saxophone) hails from Tokyo, where she has performed with artist such as Ben E. King, The #Stylistics, #ThreeDegrees and top acts of #Japan. She can be heard on many recordings for pop, funk and soul artists and in commercial music for film and TV. Dave Dawson is a “drummers drummer” heard all over NYC, touring with Carlton Jumel Smith and the Rejectionist Front.
