The intussusception happens in the proximal part of the intestine gets into the distal part of the intestine. The jejunum is the second part of small intestine. We divide the small intestine into 3 parts, the duodenum that is the first part. It starts from the stomach and the jejunum is the next part and the ileum is the third part.th jejunum is the longest tube like structure and it is almost equivalent to the length of the ileum. The jejunum will get into the distal part of the jejunum, ususlly because of the lesion n the mucosal region. So it may be a small lipoma, leiomyoma, a cancerous condition, even a simple edema due to ulcerative conditions or even cox very rarely, that mean tubercuklosis. Some of the condition seen relatively not very commonly is the lymphoma. Lymphoma of the small intestine has caused the intussusception to the jejunum to jejunum and ileum to ileum. Here the problem is the patient comes with severe pain in the abdomen, acute abdomen, with vomiting, needs acute management. What we do is management the patient as a surgical emergency. Many at times we do a laparoscopy and very rarely we have to do as an open surgery where the intussusception is bad and will not be able to reduce it comfortably, we have to do a resection anastomoses. This is how the intussusception is managed and treated.
