A couple of years back, I was asked to help with a song. My dear friend 'Mandy' had penned the first verse, unfortunately Mandy passed away before we could get any further than a 64 bar intro. She never recovered from the grief caused by the loss of her brother, as the two were super close. I hope this does her justice - rest in peace Mandy - I only hope that in death, you found what it was you so sadly missed... 6 line intro - Mandy's words. Remainder of the verses - words by me. Music created using Suno, polished up, edited, messed around with using audicity. Visuals made using https://musicvid.org and by creators: caseif - Particles & Trap Nation Visualizer https://caseif.net/ Incept - Particles & Trap Nation Visualizer https://incept.online/ Jeremboo - Animated Mesh Lines https://github.com/Jeremboo Lyrics: Meet me at sunset To watch the sun Kiss the sea I’ll lay down And let the waves Wash over me. Where the sky bleeds gold Melting in to violet blue, The tide hums low Like it always used to do. You’d skip your stones out, And me, I’d watch the light, We swore the darkness We would never, let bite. But the darkness came for me slowly, Floating in on a quiet tide, It stole the laughter It had wrenched you from my side. It carried your voice Out past the crashing foam, It left me standing By myself here, all alone. Meet me at sunset, I'll now forever, be resting there, Tracing your name Against the moonlight, in salted air. The horizon now holds us Out of reach, and out of sight, Two fading embers of borrowed light. Meet me at sunset, But please, don’t be late. I’ve grown weary and tired Of all this, fighting fate. If I lie still here And close my eyes, Perhaps I’ll wake Where your laughter lies. When the sun dips low, and the sky turns red, Think of the words I never said. I loved you more than grief could show, More than the tide will ever know. If you should walk, that lonely shore, And hear two footsteps in the roar, Don’t be afraid, it’s just us two, Watching the sunset, like we used to do.
