Biophysics is one of 6 research pillars in the School of Biomedical Sciences, and their researchers are investigating key areas of mechanobiology and single molecule biophysics that have the potential to transform medicine and human resilience in extreme environments. Driven by a passion for discovery, the School of Biomedical Sciences at UNSW are asking the biggest questions, starting from the smallest scale. Through clever development of powerful experimental tools, building collaborative networks and using cutting edge instrumentation, they study how tiny molecular force sensors can not only control cancer cell behaviour but also regulate the impact of changes in gravity on our biology; how the behaviour of a single signalling molecule can lead to different physiological outcomes; developing cutting edge imaging techniques and how physics can inform our understanding of biology. The School of Biomedical Sciences at UNSW shares a commitment to a culture of inclusion for their diverse community and to excellence in research and teaching. With their new Biophysics major starting in 2027, they will be extending their biophysics community to include undergraduate students, to provide them with an education in cutting edge biophysics. https://www.unsw.edu.au/medicine-heal...
