Unlike a breast augmentation which is a simpler procedure, a breast lift or reduction is more complex. Rather than just enlarged, changes have been made to the breast, so recovery takes longer. Recovery won't be more painful with a lift or reduction, but the first 3 to 5 days are still the most difficult. After those first 5 days you will continue feeling more and more yourself. After 2 weeks, you'll be able to function normally without continuing to limit your lifting or restrict your activities. Although you can be fitted for a bra from 1-2 months after surgery, understand that the breast won't be fully settled until the end of the second month. By then the tightness will have eased and the permanent position reached, and you should be fully healed. It's Dr Dunkley from Envision Cosmetic Surgery. A common question is what is recovery like after breast lift or reduction. Recovery is not overly painful but takes longer than a simple augmentation, as more changes have been made. The first 3 to 5 days are the worst; after which you feel better and better each day. Activity and lifting restrictions will be in place for at least 2 weeks. After 2 weeks you'll ease into your regular lifestyle. The breast should be closely monitored for any changes that may indicate a problem. At first the breast will be very high and tight. Settling in takes about 2 months. You should be well healed and completely back to normal by that time as well. You can be fitted for a bra between one and 2 months depending on how quickly you heal.
