Facebook Link:   / 400128746681213   Twitter Link:   / djsbrewtube   Aloha BrewTube: In this episode of DJs BrewTube Johnny is Joining me to review the first of many Mexican Craft Beers, Clalvera Mexican Imperial Stout. Yes, there are craft breweries in Mexico, you just have to work a bit to seek them out beyond the ocean of Mexican Macro Lagers. Why is this beer called a "Mexican" imperial Stout? Because Calavera added a subtle bled of chillies into the brew that provides a nice backend kick. I know what you are thinking, you have had chili beers before. Yes, maybe. However, you have not had one like this that uses chillies so well. My written review follows: WRITTEN REVIEW: A- Pours black with a well formed off-white head. Decent glass lacing and a fair amount of alcohol legs. S- Rich roasted coffee, chocolate, leather, spices, mild hops and a hint of chile rich spice. T- Follows the nose, rich roasted coffee, chocolate, leather, spices, mild hops and a hint of chile rich spice. The spice from chiles was there, but not predominant. Just the right of controlled back-end heat. M- Medium - Thin bodied, with smooth feel and spot-on carbonation. Very easy to drink. O- A GREAT offering by one of Mexico's premier craft breweries. I will review more beer from this brewery. Hope all of it is as good or better.
