This is by far my favorite lullaby, so dark and haunting. The text was written by Jóhann Sigurjónsson but no one knows who really wrote the song, although Sveinbjörn Sveinbjörnsson is believed to have contributed to it. The song was originally heard in the play Fjalla-Eyvindur in 1912. There it is sung by a mother before she kills her child by throwing it in a waterfall. I decided to have english lyrics on the song too, so even more people could delve into the lyrics and be charmed by this songs beauty. And to all those wondering, I am the one singing :P. Disclaimer: I don't own any of the pictures in the video, they are all from Google... and I own neither the song nor the lyrics. Thanks for watching! Ynra9.
