Created by Dr. Aldo Leal-Egaña (IMSEAM, Heidelberg University) and Dr. Daniel Tiemeyer (LisztQWV, Heidelberg University) The audiovisual installation “Cells meet Liszt” endeavors to combine the apparently incongruous chaos and rigor characterizing several engineered living systems, with the elegance and graceful minimalism of the music from Franz Liszt. The combined effect of the animation and sound brings cells and structures into life, sensorially enriched by the rhythm of the piano, making a soft choreography, integral, organic, yet alive. “Cells meet Liszt” was created for the vernissage of the permanent exhibition of the Cluster of Excellence “3D Matter Made to Order” (3DMM2O) at the Institute for Molecular Systems Engineering and Advanced Materials (IMSEAM). The exhibition comprises various stations where visitors will be able to explore 3D printed nanostructures and selected research illustrations, as well as interactive touch screens with further information about the interdisciplinary and versatile research in the Cluster.
