376 | Made it to SALAR DE UYUNI!! - BOLIVA!! (South America Travel VLOG)

27 December 2019 - Day 127 - Atacama to Uyuni | 376 Day 127: Today we arrive at one of the most popular destinations in Bolivia and South America, and the largest salt flat in the world - Salar de Uyuni!! 🇧🇴 An early 4am departure from our home stay in San Juan, we arrive in the middle of the salt flats before 6am to see the sunrise from the horizon! It was incredible! Sunrise 🌅 Even better than all the photos I’ve seen. Taking Mav up for a spin while we drove through the endless salt plain we arrive at a random island filled with cacti in the middle of the salt flats - Isla Incahuasi. This island was the top of an ancient volcano when and was submerged when the area was part of a prehistoric lake 40,000 years ago! 🌵🌵 As the sun got higher it turned the salt flats a blinding white, and we head to the middle of the flats where we got to pose for the gram! First had to run away from Godzilla 🦖 , then be blown over and trampled by by a giant, a perfect place to get creative with your shots! 📸 After we head east out of the salt flat through Isla de Banderas, Museo de la Sal, and have lunch at the little town of Uyuni. From here we swap 4WDs as we make our way south for the evening on-route back to Atacama! What a day!!
