Downstar BMW F8X Dress Up Kit (M2C/M3/M4) | Engine Bay Redemption Part 1

The Techno Violet plan didn't work out so well, but here's the first part in redeeming my attempts to dress up engine bay for my M3: the Downstar BMW F8X Billet Dress Up Hardware Kit for the S55 engine. This is the color combo I was going for all along. I've always loved blue and purple together and this kit with the purple washers works really well with the Yas Marina Blue in the engine bay. Only thing is, I really wish I had cleaned my engine bay before doing this for better video; it still has 30+ hours of dust and dirt from the drive to and from Bimmer Invasion. Suffice to say, it looks WAY better after an engine bay cleaning. Installation notes: This is a relatively straight forward installation, but it is a bit time consuming. Resist the temptation to remove a bunch of bolts at once and instead just do one at a time. Also, as noted in the video, removing the plastic tab for the first bolt/collar is tricky if you have stock intakes (or ones which have a large box similar to stock). Downstar's example car had open cone intakes so I'm sure that made it way easier. Another thing noted is the top fender bolt(s) (#6 in the bag) might reveal a little bit of unpainted metal after you install the new washer. If this happens, a tiny bit of Dr. Colorchip works great. Tools needed: 8mm, 10mm, 13mm, T30, T40, 5mm hex, 6mm hex. Socket extensions, ratcheting wrenches and 5mm bits/allen keys also make things a bit easier if you have them.
