Easy Spaghetti Sauce recipe #recipe #food #suace #spaghettisauce 🍝 Spaghetti Sauce Recipe Ingredients: 2 tbsp olive oil 1 medium onion (finely chopped) 4 cloves garlic (minced) 1 lb (450g) ground beef, turkey, or sausage (optional for meat sauce) 1 can (28 oz / 800g) crushed tomatoes (or tomato puree) 1 can (15 oz / 425g) tomato sauce 2 tbsp tomato paste 1 tsp sugar (balances acidity) 1 tsp salt (to taste) ½ tsp black pepper 1 tsp dried oregano 1 tsp dried basil (or 2 tbsp fresh, chopped) ½ tsp dried thyme (optional) 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat) 1 bay leaf (optional) ½ cup water or red wine (for richness) Fresh parsley or basil for garnish Instructions: Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté onion for 5 minutes until soft, then add garlic and cook 1 minute. (Optional) Add meat and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess fat if needed. Stir in tomato paste and cook 1–2 minutes (deepens flavor). Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, sugar, herbs, spices, and water/wine. Stir well. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low. Cover loosely and let cook for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor), stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf, taste, and adjust seasoning (salt, pepper, herbs). Serve over cooked spaghetti and garnish with fresh basil or parsley. 👉 For extra depth, you can add: A splash of balsamic vinegar or soy sauce for umami. A carrot (grated) while simmering to naturally sweeten the sauce. Parmesan rind while cooking, then remove before serving.
