UPDATE: Under statute, the boys are declared officially dead as of Nov. 26, 2015. They went missing on Nov. 26, 2010, but under the law, a person can be declared dead if missing for five years, hence the 2015 date. A judge is expected to give her decision today in the case of Michigan's missing Skelton brothers. The boys' mother seeks to have them declared legally dead. In November 2010, the Skelton brothers — Andrew, 9; Alexander, 7; and Tanner, 5 — went missing from their father's home in Morenci. John Skelton, their father, claimed he handed the boys over to an underground group to protect them from their mother, Tanya Zuvers. However, this claim has never been substantiated and the boys have not been seen since. Now nearly 15 years later, Andrew would be 23, Alexander would be 21 and Tanner would be 19. Not long after their disappearance, John Skelton was arrested and charged with three counts of unlawful imprisonment. In 2011, he was convicted and sentenced to 10-15 years in prison.
