A notable endeavor is the Mountain Maid Training Center (MMTC), which produces popular products like ube jam and strawberry jam. These products not only serve as souvenirs for visitors but also provide educational opportunities for young people in the Cordillera region. The MMTC has expanded its offerings to include over 90 products, all crafted by student workers who gain valuable skills and financial support for their education. In December 2024, the MMTC experienced a surge in demand for its ube jam, especially during the holiday season. To manage the high demand, each customer was limited to purchasing two bottles. This popularity underscores the community's support for the center's mission and the quality of its products. Additionally, the Good Shepherd Convent in Baguio is involved in environmental sustainability efforts. The convent grounds feature a variety of trees, including pine and coffee trees. The sisters engage in tree-planting activities during Arbor Day and have cultivated over 500 Arabica coffee trees. They also produce civet coffee, utilizing beans harvested by wild civets, contributing to both environmental conservation and local agriculture.
