While the United States fashions itself as the global exemplar of equal opportunity, heightened income inequality, the overturn of Roe v. Wade and accusations of systematic racism, amongst other issues, has lead some to cast serious doubt on the American Dream as the harbinger of social equality. Should the countries seek to emulate the American model, or look towards alternatives to ameliorate their social inequalities? Does the United States continue to be that shinning city on a hill, or has the American Dream become a false idol in the name of social mobility?
