Summer Marie Phelps was born on July 6th, 2002. She was a beautiful, bright-eyed and happy little girl who loved her mother and her nana. Summer loved to dress up and ride her scooter. Summer passed away on March 10th 2007, at the age of 4, after what police officers alleged was nearly 24-hours of sustained physical abuse that some described as torture, with some of her scars showing signs that the abuse had been going on for several weeks, perhaps months. Hardened police officers, and nurses on the front lines wept at the site of this child's battered and wounded body. Someone called it the worst case of abuse they had ever seen. Rest in peace little angel, you will never be forgotten!
