Skene's Glands (Lesser Vestibular/Paraurethral Glands): These are small glands on either side of the female urethra. They release a lubricating fluid that aids in urethral and vaginal health and may play a role in female ejaculation. They are sometimes compared to the male prostate due to shared features. Skenitis: This is inflammation or infection of the Skene’s glands, typically caused by a bacterial infection. Symptoms can include pain, swelling, redness, or even discomfort while urinating. Treatment usually involves antibiotics to address the underlying infection. Skene's Duct Cyst: If the ducts of the Skene’s glands are blocked, cysts can develop. These are often small and asymptomatic but might cause discomfort or urinary symptoms if they enlarge. Treatment might involve surgical drainage or complete removal of the cyst if necessary #Skenegland
