October 26, 2025 — Dade City, Florida Part 2 of a 2-part heritage catch, and one of those moments railfans dream about. Less than 24 hours after catching CSXT #1902 (Clinchfield Railroad Heritage Unit) trailing on CSX I177, I was back trackside in Dade City when CSX I178 came charging through — this time with #1902 LEADING the northbound intermodal. I177 and I178 are two of my favorite CSX intermodals. When they’re built long, they don’t hang around — often stretching close to 12,000 feet and absolutely flying through town. Seeing the same heritage unit flip directions and take the lead in under a day made this an unforgettable back-to-back catch.
