Being respected is more important than being liked by others. You should seek to be respected, not necessarily liked. There is a huge difference between being liked by people and being respected by people. If people like you but don't respect you, they won't treat you properly. They have subconscious thoughts they're better or more relevant than you. Understanding that respect is more important than being popular or liked is a key part of becoming successful.
