The Miles Davis Quintet was a jazz group led by legendary trumpeter Miles Davis. On November 6, 1967, the quintet performed at Salle Pleyel in Paris, France, as part of the 4th Paris Jazz Festival during their European tour. The lineup for the quintet included Wayne Shorter on tenor saxophone, Herbie Hancock on piano, Ron Carter on bass, and Tony Williams on drums. This performance was broadcast on ORTF (Office de Radiodiffusion Television Francaise) and featured material from their recent album "Sorcerer." This concert is a noteworthy example of the quintet's ability to blend together traditional jazz with elements of rock, funk, and avant-garde music, and highlights the individual talents of each member of the group. The original members of the quintet were Miles Davis on trumpet, John Coltrane on tenor saxophone, Red Garland on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Philly Joe Jones on drums. This lineup is widely regarded as one of the most influential and groundbreaking jazz groups of all time. The quintet's music evolved over time, starting with a hard bop sound in the mid-1950s and moving towards modal jazz in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Some of their most famous albums include "Cookin'", "Relaxin'", "Workin'", and "Steamin'", all recorded in 1956, and "Kind of Blue", released in 1959, which is considered one of the greatest jazz albums of all time. The quintet went through several lineup changes over the years, with members such as Bill Evans, Wynton Kelly, and Herbie Hancock taking over on piano and various drummers joining the group. Despite these changes, the quintet remained a major force in jazz throughout the 1960s, influencing countless other musicians with their innovative and adventurous approach to improvisation and composition. https://www.milesdavis.com/ Subscribe to my channel and share culture DAD´S A SOUL MAN / @dadsasoulman9368 🔘 LIKE IT ✔ 🔘 SUBSCRIBE ✔ 🔘 COMMENT ✔ 🔘 SHARE ✔ ╔══╦╦╦╗╔══╦═╦═╦╦╗╔═╦══╦═╗ ║══╣║║╚╣══╣╔╣╬╠╣╚╣╦╩╗╔╣╦╝ ╠══║║║╬╠══║╚╣╗╣║╬║╩╗║║║╩╗ ╚══╩═╩═╩══╩═╩╩╩╩═╩═╝╚╝╚═╝ Copyright is an important issue for us.
