Clip UV/IR cut filter for crop Nikon DSLR Full Spectrum modified - Svbony glass. Installation info.

The filter is a Svbony UV/IR cut 1.25 filter, removed from its filter holder (ring) and fitted into a 3D printed clip. Available from my eBay shop: ebay.co.uk/itm/186279288936 Clip UV/IR cut 3D printed filter is suitable for astrophotography with a full-spectrum modified crop Nikon DSLR camera. I have tested the filter in the following cameras: Nikon D80, Nikon D90, Nikon D3200, Nikon D5000, Nikon D5100, Nikon D5200. This filter is NOT compatible with Full Frame cameras such as Nikon D600, D810 etc. UV/IR cut filters block the unwanted Infrared and Ultraviolet wavelengths, preventing star bloating and resulting to better astro-images. A few important notes: 1) DO NOT look at the sun using this filter as it is not suitable for this purpose. 2) It is compatible with the above APS-C sized (crop) Nikon cameras. It is not compatible with full-frame and/or non-Nikon cameras. Most likely, the filter will fit in most crop Nikon cameras. I will keep expanding the compatibility list as I'm testing new camera models. 3) The filter clips in front of the sensor. T-ring and a telescope can be fit in front of the filter. 4) Please check on my shop for lens compatibility info. A few remarks regarding astrophotography filters: UV/IR cut filter: Very good star colour. Prevents star blooming. Suitable for dark skies. When used in light-polluted areas, shorter exposures are recommended. CLS filter: Suitable for light-polluted areas. It will allow nearly double the exposure time compared to UV/IR cut filter. Natural nebulae colours. Could be used in conjunction with UV/IR cut for optimal results (UV/IR cut: star colour + CLS: Nebulae). UHC filter: Suitable for light-polluted areas. It will allow to nearly double the exposure time compared to UV/IR cut filter. Perhaps the most vivid one.
