This video explores what it's like to rent a farm cottage. We rented Kilelton Cottage, County Kerry near Limerick. The original home is from 1885. A long secluded drive brings you to the house. Although nice and remote the location lacks any good vistas or access to a cute interesting town or hikes. The house itself is comfortable and satisfactory. But you are not getting the real Irish experience renting this place. Pay a little more and get something with real ocean views and a charming town to explore. Close by is Carrigafoyle Castle. A surprise to be sure as it's much more expansive and restored than the outside shows. We also take a hike around Carrig Island that I would not recommend. It's not really a complete hike nor does it have a proper trail. So skip the hike. There are wonderful hikes in Ireland. This isn't one of them.
