Dr. Kathryn A. Gayle, MD - Advanced Cardiac Imaging -Willis Knighton Health

Kathryn A. Gayle, MD, M.Ed., is part of the Willis-Knighton Physician Network in Shreveport, Louisiana. She is fellowship-trained to do advanced cardiac imaging in which she helps cardiologists, patients and their care team determine the best treatment plan for complex diagnoses to fit with the patients' goals in life. She is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. Specialized training for Dr. Gayle includes echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography and cardiac MRI, as well as nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT. Advanced pictures of the heart allow Dr. Gayle to support cardiac physicians as they plan and perform heart procedures and surgeries. Patients who have structural heart diagnoses benefit from understanding their treatment options and how each affects their daily activities. A summa cum laude graduate of LSU in Baton Rouge, Dr. Gayle has a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and two minor degrees in community nutrition and English literature. She returned to Shreveport for medical school at LSUHSC – Shreveport School of Medicine. Next were an internal medicine residency and a cardiovascular medicine fellowship in Nashville, Tennessee, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She further specialized with another fellowship in advanced cardiac and structural imaging, also at Vanderbilt. A Master of Education (M.Ed.) in teaching, learning and leading from Nashville’s Lipscomb University adds value to Dr. Gayle’s work with physicians and patients. Dr. Gayle is married to Christopher Eldredge and they have a daughter. In her spare time, Dr. Gayle enjoys rides on her Peloton bike and fun walks with her family and friends. She also enjoys the Shreveport food scene.
