New video every Wednesday night, 8.30pm. https://www.steezykiwi.com/products/kush-w... Filmed By Manu and Josh, Edited by Josh. The Manuherkia River is situated between the small rural town of Omakau and Alexandra. The put-in for the run is at the Ophir bridge, where the river gauge is. The Upper section (Grade 4 (5)) which we did, typically takes 1.5-2.5 hrs depending on scouting and flow with the option on carrying on downstream for 1.5-2 hrs more of Grade 3. The river typically runs on snowmelt for a few weeks of the year during early November, but is a great option if theres been lots of rain in the headwaters of St Bathans. Typical flow range for this run is 20-30 Cumecs. People do run it lower and it has been done at 80+ cumecs. It is an awesome alternative in spring if the Nevis and Waikaia arent flowing or if your someone that wants to cut their teeth on a harder Grade 4 run. Defenitly worth the mish and a cool run to check out! Put in: Ophir Bridge Takeout for Upper: Flume Road (Private property) Lower Takeout: Keddell Road
