Ready Or Not Realistic FEAR Overhaul mod - https://www.nexusmods.com/readyornot/... “Sinuous Trails” is popularly considered a mid mission, but I always found it to be one of my favourites. The vibe of the place is creepy. Like “The Spider”, it is a great CQB map. There are areas with dead space but for the most part the environment can be controlled if you move quickly. There are a considerable amount of fatal funnels depending on if certain doors are open. These areas and the dead spaces in the exteriors and server rooms are where you will most likely die. This mission was an absolute bastard to complete on hard mode (despite using an AI mod). Good luck trying to take Mindjot security alive. If you are trying to do this then I’d bring a lot of CS gas, flashbangs and that new launcher everyone is saying is overpowered. There’s far more suspects now and they’re very aggressive. I completed it successfully 3 times with all of my team alive, but the first 2 attempts felt more like RNG/luck. This attempt felt more like it was more down to good control/skill. Although the team AI is buggy as fuck man. It’s always on this level I encounter the most AI bugs as you will actually see in this video. The Strat So like in “The Spider”, my go to strategy was to patrol the exterior and wedge everyone inside the building. The problem with this is that you will most likely encounter long distance fire fights with enemies outside. It’s manageable if there’s one enemy outside, but if there’s two then someone is gonna end up shot for sure. Since the AI has the accuracy of John Wick, I wouldn’t risk it. Instead I opted to clear the reception area from the front doors, which is a strategy I never ever considered prior to doing this on hard mode. Do not immediately storm in. Stack your team and open the doors. I wouldn’t recommend C2 as the doors are then stuck against the metal detectors and you can’t see anything. Throw grenades and shoot down any enemies who have opened fire. Once the area looks mostly clear then you can go in. The shield can be useful here if that middle door fatal funnel is open. Be fast here and start lobbing grenades. Your team AI is unfortunately fucking dumb in this situation and will likely linger in front of a door or rush around a corner and get themselves shot, so throw grenades to help them out. Once you’ve wedged all the doors in reception then you can clear the right side exterior. There are usually 1-2 enemies out here. Grenades and pieing the doors are your best strats. BE WARY OF THE ROOFTOP. Enemies will actually shoot down at you. I rarely got hit but one time I got one tapped through a gap, so just watch out. I always wedge the two entrances to the server area inside the side entrance so enemies can’t escape or group up, just watch if the doors are open. Once this is sorted, then I begin sweeping the building, flash-banging each room until I reach the exit to the left side exterior. Obviously wedge doors that enemies can flank you from. Clear out here and then the roof. For some reason all the enemies were out here on this run. My team AI also bugged tf out here. Don’t try to clear areas yourself if you don’t want to take risks say for Ironman mode, I got lucky here. I would always grenade the very top area of the rooftop yourself, the team AI stacks up with their heads poking out waiting to be shot off here. Wedge the roof entrance so Mindjot security can’t run outside. The final area is the part where everything will most likely go wrong – the server room. I clear the upper office via the back entrance before clearing the server rooms down below. Yes…the enemies can shoot at you from down below but they likely won’t kill you, only wound you. Your chances of survival clearing the downstairs whilst getting shot from above are slimmer. Just be aware that there is no door that can be wedged to block enemies coming up the staircase. So watch that door like a hawk as your team preps to clear the upstairs office. The other advantage of clearing the upper office first is as your team then clears the server room, you can actually cover them from the windows. Sort of risky but It means all angles can be covered. If the enemies shoot at you (another reason to bring the shield?), then your team can get the drop on them as they clear. Finally clear the T shaped fatal funnel area in the middle of the building which is now probably empty and the little storeroom. Usually civilians hiding in here but enemies can hide here too so be careful. Really wasn’t expecting this mission to be as tough as it was but yeah, aggressive suspects in greater numbers can really change up the strategy needed.
