[Full English Cover] 08. Winx Combat Power | Winx club season 1 OST

[PLEASE REFER TO THE DESCRIPTION FIRST before asking questions in the comments] Hey everyruby, This took me a looot longer than I anticipated due to health issues and being in my final year of college, but I can now add Tecna to the line-up! I chose her for the song Combat Power because of that one scene on Domino where this song is playing and she blasts a couple of those icy monsters - honestly, her presence in the Domino arc was phenomenal all the way! Anyway, only a few more songs to go! Stay tuned for a special announcement coming soon ^^ General information: ✿ COVER PROJECT: I am covering the entire OST of the first season of Winx club in English. It took a while to pinpoint exactly what set of covers I was going to be doing- and initially I was going to do a different set entirely, but this is what I ended up going for. The Italian soundtrack was released in full quite some years ago, yet the English version has only ever brought out the TV-sized versions of the songs- and twice, weirdly enough- once for the series and once for the OST of the Join The Club game with slightly adjusted lyrics. Fans have expressed throughout the years to long for a full version of the soundtrack, but so far nothing has been released. So I figured I could do covers of those songs- I know it's not the same thing as the real deal, but it might just make for a nostalgic and magical experience nonetheless ^^ Note: "Under The Sign Of The Winx" will be excluded from this project out of respect for the full English version that is already out. ✿ LYRICS: I tried to keep the lyrics as close to the original Italian version as possible, taking as much leeway as I needed to have everything sound all right melody wise but keeping the essentials of every individual sentence intact. The original songs on this soundtrack have honestly beautiful and meaningful lyrics that I believe should be handled respectfully if I am to translate them to English. Some parts of the songs were taken straight out of both English OSTs, the rest was translated by me- guess my one and a half years of attempting to study Latin came in handy after all XD ✿ ARTWORK: For the thumbnails for this particular cover series, I decided to draw a set of artworks featuring the Winx club fairies in my own style. As some of you may know, I started my art journey by drawing (mainly ocs) in the Winx club style and have since worked on developing my own artstyle for my original story. I figured it would be a nice way to come full-circle to draw the Winx in my own style now with subsequent "redesigns" in the way I currently draw fairies for my own project. I took inspiration from poses from the original stock art for the Winx club series and gave the designs my own twist to give it more of an epic fantasy type of vibe while still keeping the essentials of the original designs in tact (general outfit, main colour, hairstyle and wing shape, to be exact). This is by no means an attempt to outshine the original designs or anything of the sorts, just me paying a tribute to these characters I hold very dear by drawing them in my own style. ✿ SPEEDPAINT: As with all my (digital!) artworks, there will be a speedpaint of every single one of the artworks for this series up on my YouTube channel in a couple of months- and I will talk more about the design process for the individual fairies I drew for this series in the captions of those videos. ✿ ORDER I am going by these songs in a rather random order, I assigned a song from the OST to each Winx fairy by matter of association and then went along drawing the fairies in order of introduction in the series. The number in the title is simply the number of the corresponding track on the original album, so no worries if the number doesn't allign with how many covers are out by that point- it's not supposed to add up XD ✿ Next up?
