Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Part 4 – Alternator replacement, cooling system reassembly, and another costly brake leak. Is this £2000 Rolls finally roadworthy? Welcome back to Old Skull Garage – Motoring Show 👊 We’re back with Part 4 of the £2000 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II rescue… and this one tested my patience again 😅 After previously rebuilding the alternator, I quickly realised something wasn’t right. Truth is… I may have broken it. So in this episode, I tackle fitting an aftermarket alternator to get the charging system working properly. But that wasn’t the only challenge. 🔧 What happens in Part 4: Replacing the alternator (again!) Full reassembly of belts Refitting the radiator Refilling the cooling system with fresh antifreeze Preparing the car for its first proper test drive Just when everything looked ready to go… disaster strikes again. Another leaking brake hose — and this time it dumped precious RR363 brake fluid. Anyone who owns a Rolls-Royce knows that fluid isn’t cheap! Luckily, I managed to save some before it completely drained out. This project proves one thing: Owning a classic Rolls-Royce is never simple. The engineering is incredible — but every job feels like a battle. Despite all the setbacks, there’s a huge moment at the end of this episode… 🚗 The Rolls-Royce finally goes out for a proper drive. Is this £2000 Rolls finally turning a corner? Or is it still hiding more problems?
