What if you had an opportunity to meet someone from the past? What would you ask them? Carol Spacht portrays the iconic role of Betsy Ross, flag maker of the United States, and shares how first-person interpretation makes history real and relevant to new generations. __ Carol Spacht appears weekly at the Betsy Ross House in Philadelphia, where she portrays our nation’s best-known flagmaker. Offering twenty-five years of experience in living history, Mrs. Spacht trains “History Makers” in the art and craft of first-person interpretation for Historic Philadelphia, Inc. As an historic interpreter, she also portrays Martha Washington, our “first” First Lady, and Juliette Gordon Low, the Founder of the Girl Scouts of America. Mrs. Spacht presents interactive educational programs throughout the Philadelphia region. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
