Uttar Pradesh has yet again proved that it is not safe for women, in particular, and for nobody in general. A shokcing incident has been reported from Lakhimpur Kheri, wherein a 18-year-old Dalit girl was raped and then killed. The girl who went to fill out the admission form in a school was raped and then murdered and her body was later discovered by the police. Adding to the nightmare, the body was mutilated by animals. SP, Lakhimpur Kheri, while talking to the media said that a case has been registered under Sec 302 of the IPC against unidentified accused. This is a second case of rape that has been reported from Lakhimpur Kheri and that too in a week’s time. The CM of Uttar Pradesh is certainly answerable and needs to introspect the way that U.P is governed.
