This museum is dedicated to the history and cultures surrounding tobacco and salt, goods that were once protected by a government monopoly in Japan. The museum houses a large collection of objects related to tobacco culture in Japan and objects such as cigarette packages, posters, smoking items, pipes etc from Japan and around the world. The section on salt includes specimens of salt around the world, such as rock salt, lake salt, solar salt and others as well as salt crystals and salt production tools.
