Rajahmundry Milk Tragedy | 106 Families Affected | District Collector Keerthi says don't Panic

A major health scare has gripped Rajahmundry after adulterated milk allegedly led to serious illness among residents. East Godavari District Collector Keerthi Chekuri stated that officials are conducting door-to-door surveys in Lalapeta Cheruvu Chowdeswari Nagar and have identified a common link among the victims. Authorities detained the milk supplier who reportedly distributed milk to 106 families, sourcing it from 46 farmers. So far, blood samples from 73 individuals have been sent to a forensic laboratory for testing. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced ₹10 lakh ex-gratia for the families of the deceased. Officials confirmed that four people have died, while eight others are undergoing treatment in hospitals. Victims reportedly consumed adulterated milk, curd, tea, and coffee prepared with the contaminated supply. The Collector clarified that the illness is not contagious and urged citizens not to panic.
