He comes from a modest background in the suburbs of Mumbai and has trained for only 2 years with ballet teacher Yehuda Maor in Mumbai. This year, after Yehuda Maor sent a homemade audition tape to the artistic director of American Ballet Theatre's Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis school in New York, he was immediately offered an invitation.
