The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and West Bengal, along with the Union Territory of Puducherry. The announcement was made in New Delhi by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Polling in Kerala, Assam and Puducherry will be held in a single phase on *April 9, while Tamil Nadu will vote on April 23. Elections in West Bengal will take place in two phases on April 23 and April 29. The counting of votes for all five regions will be held on May 4.
