This is prophetic painting by artist Ricardo Colon from Bethlehem PA. for Kentucky and our region. Title: Shovels and Seeds As I was praying, in the Spirit I saw the farm, a wide field. And in that field, I saw wells that had once been dug, but they were now dried up and covered over with dirt. “My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn for themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.” , Jeremiah 2:13 Then I lifted my eyes and saw the Lord holding the clouds above the field. The clouds were heavy, pregnant with rain. This was not a drizzle. This was an outpouring waiting to happen. “Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain. The Lord will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain.” , Zechariah 10:1 The rain wants to fall over your region. But the field was not yet ready to receive the great outpouring that is coming. As I looked closer at the land, I saw rocks in the soil. I saw weeds lying just beneath the surface, waiting for water so they could spring up alongside the good seed. “Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil… and because it had no root, it withered away.” , Matthew 13:5–6 Then I saw angels in the air, carrying bags of seed. But they were not releasing the seed. They were hovering, paused, waiting for something to happen on the earth. “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.” , Romans 8:19 Suddenly, I noticed one angel holding a shovel. That caught my attention. And when I looked again, I saw that he also carried a bag filled with shovels. That’s when I understood: These angels were not coming first as harvesters. They were coming as helpers, to assist the intercessors, the ones who would gather to pray, dig, and prepare the field. “Break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till He comes and rains righteousness on you.” , Hosea 10:12 This is important: Your church building was not visible in this vision. The focus was not on the house, it was on the land. It was on the field. It was in the region. “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!” , John 4:35 Three years ago, when I painted for you, I saw a sudden rush, a gush of angels. The roof was removed, and the heavens opened wide as angels flooded into your church. But this painting is different. This prophetic painting is about the groundwork. It is about digging again. It is about clearing stones, pulling weeds, and reopening wells. “Prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” , Isaiah 40:3 The rain is ready. The seed is ready. Heaven is waiting. Now the question is not whether God will pour out, but whether the field will be prepared to receive it. This is deeply spiritual when it talks about the farm, it talks about a great harvest. The farm is just a symbolic picture, but it's really the region, Kentucky.
