Infielder V-Cut Drill: This is a great drill twill help develop your infielders improve their fielding ground balls skills cleanly, then make a strong throws to 1st base Setup of Drill: Setup your players in s single line behind the 3rd base position. A couple feet in front of where the 3rd baseman would position themselves, place 4 pylons in a row and then in front of those pylons, 3 more pylons in the shape of a V, pointing to the right. Have your 1st basemen receive throws at 1st base. * Step 1: First start with the coach rolling slow grounders to the players on the 3rd base. When coach releases the ball, the first player will hop over the line of pylons and time themselves to attack the ball, by going around to the right of the pylon, then cutting back to the left to field the ball at the same time. This creates a better angle to see the bounce of the ball and taking the players momentum to 1st base to make a stronger throw. (Important to time when to cut back to the left to field the ball. When initially turning right your left cheek/ear should be facing the ball) * Step 2: Have the next player in line do the drill, until everyone is comfortable with doing this from 3rd base position. Then move pylons and players to Short Stop position to do the drill from Short Stop. * Step3: After all your players are consistently doing the drill, have the coach hit ground balls from the home plate, doing the same drill from both 3rd base and Short Stop Position * When hitting the ball from home plate, introduce having the players, count how many bounces until the ball gets to their V-Cut spot. This will help your players, get use to timing the bounces of the balls and when to expect it. * This is a great to work on how to properly attack ground balls hit to 3rd base and Short Stop positions and make stronger throws to 1st base. 🥎🥎🥎#softball #SoftballDrills #EasySoftballDrills #Softball #SoftballPracticeDrills #FunSoftballDrills #infielddrills #vcutdrill #attackingroundball
