This video was filmed on January 20th, 2026. Welcome back to the channel everyone, and today in this video, I rode the R160B Siemens (Q) train in car #8928 from Avenue M to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue. During the AM Rush hour, one (R) train terminates at 96th Street-2nd Avenue and then becomes a (Q) train to do one southbound trip to Coney Island, this used to be an R46 or sometimes an R160. But due to the Jamaica-Coney Island fleet swap, this trip is now an R160 100% thus making it the only way to see an R160 on the (Q). Normally, when this train gets to Coney Island after completing its southbound trip from 96th Street, it would go out of service, head to Coney Island Yard, remain there until the PM Rush hour where it will enter service at 36th Street-4th Avenue as an (R) train. However, sometimes if needed to, said R160 can stay in service for 1 or 2 extra round trips (e.g. if there's a gap in (Q) service). But this time, this train into the night. Something really rare and uncommon. (Although, this isn't the first time I encountered this or this has happened before.) When we got to Coney Island, I thought the train would go out of service as that looked like it would be the last trip of the night for this train, but it wasn't. Instead, the train would do (likely) one more round trip on the (Q) for the evening. (I got off at Newkirk Plaza and recorded this train leaving said station due to the fact I couldn't go to Manhattan as it was already dark outside. Also, according to someone, this train went out of service at 9:37 PM). I do want to apologize for the cut at 16:31, that was because we got held in the station. When we were about to leave, I resumed recording because I don't want this video to be too long. This is also the first nighttime train ride video on my channel.
