April 2025 Day 17 of the Advent Calendar Series 2025 Today's video takes us back to April On the same day I covered the Silvertown Tunnel Opening and changes like the 129 extension and the new route SL4 afterwards I was going home then I found out about the D8s change At the time of Filming the D8 had been just allocated some new Volvo BZL Double deckers ( initially due for other routes but due to the huge amount of electrics stagecoach has now anything can appear on any route it seems ) which was a pretty huge upgrade up from the ex first/ tower transit Gemini 2s despite being withdrawn a bit earlier than expected I was really excited to ride this. of course I had already been on a BZL prior to this on route 276 but after seeing the double decker version I knew I just had to ride it personally the BZLs in general are now some of my favourite bus types , really comfortable and smooth , the motors sound pretty good aswell ( as long as the fans aren't too loud) also these buses look much bigger on the inside than they are, I guess that's what happens when you use space efficiently (Also notice the announcement board above the doors too and I heard it is more interesting upstairs although I have to cover that when I see it for myself) Hope you enjoy the video and I think Volvo and MCV have done amazing work creating these buses As of when I write this the main operators of BZLs ( double deck) are Stagecoach and Arriva (London) but there are a huge amount in cities like Manchester, Warrington, Edinburgh and also some in Cambridge too Vehicle information bus type MCV Volvo BZL Batteries 470kwh Range 214 miles (345km) New in 2024 Operator Stagecoach London Depot Lea interchange Route D8 Crossharbour ASDA - Stratford Bus Station #fortheloveofbuses #Stagecoach #MCV #VOLVO #BZL ©️ Daniel's UK Transport Videography 2025
