What an absolute powerhouse of a film. Ruggero Deodato (Cannibal Holocaust) directs a campground slasher film with David Hess, Mimsy Farmer, John Steiner, Ivan Rassimov, and Charles Napier all with a soundtrack from the synth master himself, Claudio Simonetti. Although the film and the soundtrack have never had an official release, I've always thought this was one of Simonetti's best works ever since I got my old VHS ripped bootleg DVD-R. At the time Simonetti used the same set up he used for Demons and Phenomena: Minimoog PPG Wave 2.3 w/waveterm Yamaha DX-7 Emulator II Roland VP-330 Linn 9000 Steinway Grand Piano. For this cover, all I used was the Prophet X as well as the Tempest. The Tempest is doing the PPG bell-like melody, all of the drums and percussion (sort of a simulated DMX style kit I programmed) as well as an analog bassline. The Prophet X is doing the grand piano, strings, female voice lead, electric guitar power chords and of course the famous "Orchestral Hit". I ran the mix into a guitar cabinet simulator to give it that VHS rip type feel. Hope you enjoy! ℗ Everett Dudgeon 2025
