Direct Oral Anticoagulants are relatively new group of anticoagulant drugs. Anticoagulant drugs are important drugs that are used to treat serious and life threatening conditions. However, these drugs can also result in in significant bleeding complications. DOACS have advantage that these drugs can be administered in oral form and have immediate anticoagulant effect so bridging therapy is not required.
