This was done on Version 2.3. NRI - No Regular Items. ie, no accessing the or Quick Pockets commands inside or outside battle. Also, no Auto Phoenix/Med/Potion armor abilities. Use command and Mix ovedrive are allowed. NS - No Summons. You can't summon except when forced to. (Exceptions: Forced Garuda battle in Besaid, forced fights against Isaaru.) NDG - No Dropped Gear (from bosses). NTNGNFB - No Threaten, No Gravity attacks, No "Full Break" Skill. NNE - No [No Encounters] auto-ability. NTQ - No Trio of 9999/Quartet of 9 Mixes. Alongside with those restrictions, I will also do a progression lock where you will not be allowed to do postgame stuffs (Cavern of the Stolen Fayth and beyond) before beating BFA & Yu Yevon. This is to ensure BFA is at its intended difficulties. The highlight for this battle is definitely trying to survive Total Annihilation + Cross Cleave combo, but first, let's talk about Lance of the Styx and CTB Cure. I had Auron always Guard the Lance of the Styx, this will turn him into Zombie so he's the one who also gonna tank the CTB Cure. I had customized a Slowproof armor for him, this way I don't have to Haste him everytime he hit by the Lance, and CTB Cure will missed if the target was Hasted, so with the Slowproof armor I had an easier time making sure Auron always Hasted before CTB Cure. Since Auron was Zombiefied for the entire battle and I don't have access to Holy Water because of No Regular Items, I also customized Ice Eater on his armor for healing. This will also help me to tank the first Penta-Blizzara spell, cause I probably don't have enough time to set up everyone Reflect by that time. All right, let's talk about our party setup now. Basically I need to set up for different kind of attacks that Seymour Flux throw at us, and each party member had a specific role for them to do, which is: 1. Blast Zone Party (Yuna, Kimahri, either Tidus or Lulu): The party that will tank Blast Zone, usually Blast Zone is not lethal even without mitigation, but it still help us to conserve MP from healing in the long run. You want Shell + 5x Focuses on this party. 2. Reflect Party (Yuna, Kimahri, Rikku): For tanking the Penta Spells and Break, just a simple Haste+Reflect is enough. 3. Total Annihilation Party (Yuna, Lulu, Tidus): For tanking Total Annihitaltion, 5x Focuses is recommended to survive, I'm not really sure if you can survive without the Focuses. I think Shell is not mandatory. 4. Cross Cleave Party (Auron, Kimahri, Wakka): For tanking Cross Cleave, Protect + 5x Cheers is needed, Wakka need to defend. 5. Damage Dealers (Lulu, Wakka, Tidus): Our main damage dealers, 5x Focuses for Lulu and 5x Cheers for Wakka and Tidus basically. That's a lot to set up, and it's one of the reasons why this fight took about 35 minutes. I'll admit, it's probably a little bit overkill and you could maybe speed things up with another way but it's a 100% safe strat at least. Before going into the second phases, you could also wait it out until Seymour cast Penta-Spells to get reflected back at him for huge amount of damage, this will lower the HP threshold needed to kill him significantly. But again, I think if you want to speed up the fight, you could get away with not doing that.
