Albuquerque Police Officers Close to Getting Struck by Gunfire

Jeremy Hovey is accused of firing multiple shots from an apartment and through the front door, where four officers were announcing for him to exit. Hovey yelled, “Fuck You!” and fired a barrage of shots through the front door. In body camera footage, viewers can see impacts from the bullets hit the drywall. APD officers were dangerously close from being struck by Hovey's attempt on their lives. None of the officers were injured. “This shooting took place just days after one of our officers was shot, and hours after we held a news conference to talk about the danger that our officers are facing when they encounter suspects who are armed with firearms and willing to use them,” APD Chief Harold Medina said.
