Globalization and rapid technological advancement have made possible new forms of crimes. Criminal investigations have kept up and many offences which would have previously stayed hidden from scrutiny are now detectable. The face of criminal law practice has changed because of all this. Amongst the long list of cases to her credit are the Jain Hawala case of 1996, the 2G spectrum case, the Aarushi Talwar murder case, the Shreesanth IPL match fixing case, the Hashimpura massacre case, the criminal defamation against Priya Ramani, the Ankit Saxena murder trial and many others. Criminal law continues to evolve and in diverse directions. New offences have also been added to the statute books. It has paved the way for new areas of criminal law practice.
