Can you win against the Donkey Kong & Lady spirit in Smash Ultimate by doing absolutely nothing? As this video shows, of course you can. This Legend spirit is a bit interesting as you do have a partner on your side, a CPU Peach that is a stand in for the Lady (or Pauline as she later came to be named), and who shockingly isn't quite as incompetent as you would expect. Her getting KO'd results in a loss, but she does provide a nice distraction for the giant Donkey Kong who seems to rarely get focused on Luigi, and she can often survive a decent while, with it being common for me to lose by time running out before Peach dies. Given the stage is the notorious 75M, the stage is quite awkward for CPU giant Donkey Kong and it didn't take too many tries to get a successful win. I also think it could be possible to win by giant Donkey Kong actually getting KO'd without you doing anything, as the stage hazards and items can do a lot of damage while Peach can survive well enough to possibly outlast him, and it came decently close to happening here before DK took himself out. It should also possible to do this spiritless, which I may try again sometime, but to maximize my chances, I went with the following spirit setup: *Mega Diancie for the primary spirit, as it's not only has one of the highest defense ratings, but also has three support slots, and starting you with a Franklin Badge to reflect projectiles is always useful, even if it didn't really matter in this video. *With three support slots, I'm able to add a Slow Super Armor support spirit (using Regigigas), which when combined with this being a Stamina match, effectively gives Luigi permanent super armor, ensuring Luigi won't be knocked off the stage without being grabbed. *There's nothing terribly useful you can use for the third support slot in this battle. I slapped on a Risky Boots spirit to have a starting Bob-omb equipped, so that Donkey Kong could maybe take a bit more damage at the start if he attacks Luigi, making victory by KO a tiny bit more possible while the Franklin Badge protects Luigi from the Bob-omb's explosion. It didn't end up mattering in this successful run though, as DK stayed away and the bomb blew up harmlessly in Luigi's hands. Equipping a spirit that gives some extra HP is also viable, to help reduce the chance that DK beats up Luigi enough to KO him, but among the losing attempts, that happened too rarely for it to matter much. One more option is a spirit that turns you metal to farther bolster Luigi's ability to armor hits, but with it being Stamina, the only things it might help you armor that you couldn't without is maybe if DK hits you with a charged smash attack.
