A nitrogen gas supply to multiple hoods that had been using compressed gas cylinders was re-plumbed to use the gas output from a 240 L liquid nitrogen dewar. Since the working supply pressure for the nitrogen manifold will be under 20 psi, the 240 psi limit on the gas output of a liquid nitrogen dewar is just fine. Single stage regulator is used; maximum input pressure of 500 psi, output pressure range 0 to 60 psi. The flexible "pigtail" hose is a great convenience when attaching to the dewar. The 240 L dewar size also has the advantage of being on wheels ... no hand cart is needed to move the dewar. TIME .... VIDEO SEGMENT DESCRIPTION 0:01 .... Early in the "Before" with the wall shelving standards installed and general description 1:01 .... Components before assembly for pigtail hose/regulator/valve ... needed to connect to CGA 580 GAS Outlet of liquid nitrogen dewar 2:37 .... Assembled components for connection from dewar to 1/4" OD copper tubing .... only one side of regulator has connection for "IN" 3:34 ... Rough in of copper line extension 3:51 .... Options for fastening regulator to shelf 4:09 .... Selected configuration and tied down with stainless steel wire 4:59 ... Finished connections 5:41 .... High pressure liquid nitrogen dewar attached 6:28 ... Testing flow at a hood a couple of times 7:47 ... Tags for use with liquid nitrogen dewar ONLY ... Important warning since regulator cannot handle maximum pressure input that a compressed gas cylinder can generate. 8:10 ... Note on shelf brackets and shelf ... secured with 3/4"x #6 sheet metal screws DISCLAIMER and some other legal stuff .... This video is for educational and documentation purposes only.
