HEARTBREAK or HIDDEN?💔 GUIANACARA SP RED CHEEK BANDIT CICHLID EGGS UPDATE. Day 4 eggs were there in the morning and came home to an empty cave...the eggs were GONE. I'm starting to think they didn't make it.While it's possible they hatched into invisible "wigglers" or were moved to a secret spot, here is the reality of what might have happened. • The "Afternoon Snack aka Midnight Snack" since I didn't take the eggs out, parents probably got stressed and ate them. • Fungul Failer: If the eggs turned white, the parents would eat them to prevent it from spreading to others, but I didn't see any white eggs that morning . • A "secret move" these cave spawners are notorious for moving their young. I checked around the tank to see if I saw anything and didn't see any wigglers, so I'm not sure if they moved them. • Stealh Hatching: Most Bandit Cichlids hatch between 3 to 5 days depending on temperature. They might be tiny larvae hidden in the substrate now. They keep guarding the area, so im hoping something is in the substrate will see in a couple of days.
