Few power-ups are as descriptive as POW. Even if you aren't exactly sure what it's going to do, you know it's going to be big. This isn't some stupid mushroom or floating power orb, it has the description right on the packaging, and I expect a megaton explosion at minimum. Thankfully, this Gun Smoke power-up lives up to its name. One touch of the POW will instantly kill everybody on the screen. How do you like me now? But wait a second, what kind of unholy magic is this? The POW blows everything up on the screen EXCEPT for you? How does that work? Is our hero wearing some sort of protective sunscreen? Did Jacob cast a spell to keep him on the island? Forget buying guns and ammo, this guy should put all his time into making a weapon powered entirely by that POW item. Okay, so maybe they didn't have the technology to recreate the POW in the old west, but what about World War II? By 1942 we had mastered flying, created the nuclear bomb and successfully rescued that poor white girl from Oz. Surely we could figure out the technology that goes into a POW item, right? You people are letting me down.
