#BarberBeats #vaporwave #SmoothMusic #ChillOut #jazzwave On September 8th, barber beats producer 𝐺𝑂𝑅𝐸 ‪@visceraandvapor‬ released a new album that translates to “sanctuary” and it got a cassette release by Doki Doki beats on September 15th. This album really leans into the smoooooth sounds of jazz with some bright and upbeat horns in the opening tracks. The beginning of the album has a markedly sunny disposition that leans into the feel good sentimentality of early 90s smooth jazz. As the album approaches the B-side, the tone downshifts back to the classic barber beats chill out vibe but it doesn’t veer into the melancholy or dolorous emotions found on more lofi barber beats albums. The low growling introduction to track 8, which eventually opens up to a shimmering string-led melody, sounds very dreamlike and sets up the final two tracks of the album. Like all good barber beats album do, this one takes you on a journey and the conclusion of that journey on this album reveals two very unique tracks that don't just use the typical breakbeats found in the genre. Track 9’s dense production and clattering percussion surges into a back beat with a shuffling 6/8 triplet pattern. The track has a unique feel with floating snippets of wah wah guitar, cello solos, trumpets, and swelling synths. The album finishes its 10 track run with a more ambient piece of swirling sounds undergirded by a simple brushed jazz hop beat. It’s a mellow ending to a really engaging album that never gets too dark and basks in the glow of really smooth music from its congenial beginning to its contemplative end.
