Cigar Review No.32: Davidoff Special 'R' (Tubos) - After a brief spell off, The Dr. Joe Show continues with Cigar Review Episode 32. This time we're exploring the vast world of "Davidoff!" We'll be looking at how this keystone organization within the cigar industry took shape, from it's infancy as little more than a single cigar shop in Switzerland, through it's "golden years," as a Cuban brand and well into it's current state as one of the largest, Dominican-brand cigar companies the industry has ever known... We'll be talking about the life of the man who made it all possible, Zino Davidoff, from birth to death, while combing through the historical events that helped shape the vast cigar organization Davidoff is today. While we delve deep into all of that, we'll be smoking and reviewing the Davidoff Special 'R'- and in a Tubos format just for kicks! This is a cigar that should be easy enough for most of you out there to come by, so as always, I invite you to smoke along and cannot stress enough how the overall "experience" of watching the show will only be that much better if you do! As we always do a "brand history," episode when introducing a brand that hasn't been on the show before, I want to let you all know that the brand history of Davidoff is particularly interesting in a great number of ways. As one of the only brands to be produced in post-revolutionary Cuba and then in the Dominican republic within such a recent period, there are practically two brands to discuss - A singular brand with two very distinct histories.
